Terms of Service
Updated November 11th 2024
Acceptance of Agreement
By participating in the immersive insiders XR Design Challenge (the “Challenge”) on our platform, you agree to follow these Terms of Service (the "Agreement") along with our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree to these terms, please don’t participate in the Challenge.
We might update this Agreement over time. Your continued participation means you accept any updates, so check back occasionally.
You confirm that you're of legal age to participate and have the capacity to agree to these terms. Our Challenge is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. Participants under 18 may need parental consent.
Challenge Overview and Definitions
The immersive insiders platform lets creators (“Participants”) showcase their XR projects for the Challenge. Challenge hosts (“Organizers”) can set goals and evaluate Submissions.
Key Definitions:
- Content: All media and information (videos, images, code, etc.) shared on the platform.
- User Content: Content submitted by Participants.
- Submission: An entry to the Challenge.
To join certain activities, you’ll need to register an account in Devpost. You’re responsible for safeguarding your account and notifying us if there’s any unauthorized use.
We reserve the right to manage usernames and remove or reclaim inactive accounts or those with inappropriate names.
Conduct and Responsibility
All participants agree to:
- Follow applicable laws.
- Provide accurate information about themselves.
- Respect others’ intellectual property rights.
Participants must not:
- Misrepresent their identity or affiliations.
- Use harmful or offensive language or imagery.
- Post misleading or plagiarized content.
- Attempt to use or access other Participants' accounts.
Any content you submit should not contain offensive or harmful material. We reserve the right to remove or block any content that violates these rules.
Participating in the Challenge
By participating, you agree to abide by both this Agreement and any additional Challenge Rules specific to each Challenge event.
Submission Requirements:
- Participants can modify submissions before the entry deadline. After the deadline, submissions are final unless the Organizer explicitly permits changes for specific reasons, like removal of potentially infringing material.
- Teams can participate but must appoint a single representative to act on behalf of the group.
Responsibility for Submissions:
Participants are responsible for making sure their submissions are complete and accurate. Organizers are not responsible for technical issues or submission errors.
Voting and Judging
Some Challenges may include public voting. Participants must follow the rules regarding fair voting practices. Organizers have the final say in case of disputes or suspicious voting patterns.
Intellectual Property Rights
Participants retain ownership of their submissions, but by entering, they grant us and the Organizers a non-exclusive license to display and promote the submission on the platform and through related media.
Your submission must be your original work and should not violate any third-party rights. If the Challenge requires transferring intellectual property to the Organizer, this will be explicitly stated in the Challenge Rules.
Limitation of Liability
We provide the Challenge “as-is” without guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or reliability. We're not liable for any damages related to your participation in the Challenge or use of our platform.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts or content that violate these Terms. If you wish to terminate your account, let us know, and we’ll close it. Certain terms, like Intellectual Property rights and limitations of liability, will survive account termination.
